British Fashion Awards: Olivia Palermo in Matthew Williamson

Socialite Olivia Palermo attended the 2011 British Fashion Awards a couple of days ago at the Savoy Hotel in London….

Olivia chose a wool-crepe dress with beaded, sequin and feather apliqués from the Matthew Williamson Fall 2011 Collection and accessorized with a Charlotte Olympia clutch and Topshop flame mesh ankle boots.

I know many of you will disagree, but I think this is a great dress!  And I think Olivia looks very pretty!  This dress is very different, yes.  But it looks so good on her!  It is fun and bold and exciting, yet still flattering to her figure.  The only thing I am unsure of is her choice of shoe.  Because there is so much going on with the dress, I think a more simple shoe might’ve looked better.  But even still, I think Olivia looks gorgeous!  (Notice her nails are polished, too!  Makes me happy!)

Film Independent Spirit Awards Nominations: Kate Beckinsale in Tadashi Shoji

Kate Beckinsale attended a press conference yesterday at The London Hotel in West Hollywood to announce the nominations for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards….

Kate chose a white and nude tulle cocktail dress from the Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 Collection and paired it with a pair of nude Brian Atwood platform pumps.  Long, shiny locks completed her look. 

I think Kate looks fantastic in this Tadashi Shoji dress!  I pretty much love everything about it!  I love the sytle and cut and the tulle and the nude/white combo…it is so feminine and lovely!  I would love to have this dress for myself!  ;)

And on top of the fact that this dress is fab, Kate has a killer figure and gorgeous hair!  What a babe!  She would probably look pretty darn good in anything….

‘Puss in Boot’ Sydney Premiere: Salma Hayek in Bottega Veneta

Salma Hayek attended yet another premiere for ‘Puss in Boots’…this time in Sydney…

Salma has had some serious up’s and down’s on the red carpet lately.  And she has potential to be GREAT on the red carpet every.single.time.   She has been off her game recently…not sure why.  For the Sydney premiere of PIB Salma chose a dress and belt from the Bottega Veneta Cruise 2012 Collection and a pair of platform YSL round toe pumps. 

I don’t really have much to say about this.  I don’t hate it, yet I don’t really like it.  I think the color is a bit drab, and Salma’s hair and makeup aren’t really doing anything for me, either.  Overall, I feel sorta ‘blah’ about this.

Gotham Independent Film Awards: Charlize Theron in Gucci

Charlize Theron hit the red carpet at the 21st Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City a couple of days ago….

Charlize chose a gorgeous dress from the Gucci Spring 2012 RTW Collection.  Her beautiful Gucci features a white halter-style top with a plunging neckline, metallic waistband and a pleated, tiered skirt.  The actress accessorized with a cute black clutch, strappy gold sandals, a black headband and a thin, gold wrap-around necklace.

I am literally in love with this dress.   Seriously.  I adore it.  And I think Charlize looks fantastic.  She is wearing this dress to complete perfection.   I only have one, teeny-tiny complaint:  her hair.  Not a fan of the hair all pulled back with a thin headband.  Her headband reminds me of something you would wear to the gym.  But, other than that single little detail, I freaking love this!  Gorgeous dress on a gorgeous lady!  :)

November 29th: Happy Birthday, Darth!

Today is a very special day in the CandyBarbie household….today is Darth’s birthday!  And for those of you who have read CB before (or for those of you who know me IRL) then you know Darth is my fantastic husband (and best friend!)
