‘CNN Heroes’ Benefit: Christy Turlington in Calvin Klein Collection

Christy Turlington was on-hand at LA’s Shrine Auditorium for the ‘CNN Heroes’ benefit, which was held in early December….

 

Christy looked quite lovely in her peach-colored Calvin Klein Collection dress that features flutter sleeves with cut-out detail.  Ivory colored strappy platform pumps and loose, tousled curls completed her look.

WOW!  What a beauty!  Christy is pure perfection in this peach Calvin Klein creation!  Everything about this is stunning: the soft color, the feminine lines, her barely there makeup and the gorgeous shoes-I love it!

Street Style-Maternity Edition: Jessica Simpson v. Hilary Duff

Maternity wear is not a common topic here at CandyBarbie.  In fact, I don’t think it is something that I have ever posted about.  What can I say, maternity wear just isn’t my thang!!  But, because Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff are both with-child, I want to briefly talk about their maternity style….which is actually pretty good in both cases….surprisingly.

Chucks & A Chunky Cardigan: Emma Robert’s Street Style

Emma Roberts was out running errands in Beverly Hills a few weeks ago sporting some very cute street style…

Emma wore a chunky cable-knit grey Theme sweater and paired it with black low-top Converse sneakers and a black leather bag by Rachel Zoe. 

Typically I would never condone wearing black leggings as pants, but I am not entirely sure the pants Emma is wearing here are leggings.  Are they leggings or are they skinny jeans?  I don’t know…but either way I think she looks really cute!  She has long, skinny legs so she can pull off such a look.  Most people can’t. 

In addition to her pants, I very much like everything else about this look!  As a casual, daytime outfit, I think Emma looks comfortable but not sloppy.  The sweater and Converse are cute and the black Rachel Zoe bag adds just the right amount of dressiness to bring the whole look together!  I really like it all!

‘X-Factor’ Season Finale: Zooey Deschanel in Erin Fetherston

Adorable actress Zooey Deschanel hit the red carpet last Thursday at the ‘X-Factor’ Season Finale at CBS Television City  in Los Angeles….

Zooey chose a super-cute above-the-knee drop waist dress with scalloped hemline from the Erin Fetherston Resort 2012 Collection.  I really like this dress and I think Ms. Deschanel looks really great!  This dress is young and playful and fun…BUT WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH HER SHOES?!?  They look terrible with this dress…and I hate them.  I was so happy with this outfit until I gazed down at those shoes-I mean, come on!  Black pumps?  No way.  Not even.  They are absolutely wrong for this outfit.  And I certainly don’t have anything against classic black pumps….they are a wardrobe staple, obviously.  This dress needs something more dainty…something more girly…something less clunky.  Know what I mean?

The verdict is this:  I really like the dress, and I love Zooey’s hair and makeup!  But this pretty dress falls flat when paired with plain black pumps.  Period.

‘Jessica Simpson Girls’ Launch: Jessica Simpson in Dolce & Gabbana

Jessica Simpson was at Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York earlier this month for the launch of her new line ’Jessica Simpson Girls’….

 

Jessica was looking super cute while showing off her baby bump in a leopard-print silk chiffon Dolce & Gabbana dress that she paired with a Camilla and Marc leather jacket, black tights and black platform Jessica Simpson ankle boots. 

I love this!  Jessica has finally gotten it right!  This is a perfectly flattering outfit!  The Dolce & Gabbana dress is adorable and it looks great paired with the leather jacket and ankle booties!  This outfit is edgy and chic, but Jessica’s long blond tresses and side braid really soften it up and add a feminine, flirty touch.  I think Jessica looks fantastic! She hasn’t looked this good in a long time, IMO.
