Love it or Loathe it?

Celeb:  Allison Williams

Designer:  Peter Som (dress), Jimmy Choo (sandals)

Event:  9th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, New York City

Verdict:  Well, I really like Allison on HBO’s Girls, but I am not totally liking her in this Peter Som dress.  There is just too much going on here for my taste.  The color of this dress is actually really pretty, but I just don’t care for the top part.  It’s too busy.  The straps are too big.  I think this dress would be significantly improved if the straps that are hanging down on her shoulders were removed completely.  Then this dress would look pretty darn good.  It’s a shame about the dress, because the styling here is good: her hair and makeup look really nice, her jewelry is simple and the shoes are awesome.  But BAM!  Those straps/sleeves are not cute.

Which brings me back to my original question:  Love it or loathe it?
