Chic Street Style: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is beyond gorgeous, we all know that.  But I think she might be a contender for best dressed woman of 2011.  She has rocked so many amazing outfits this year…red carpet and otherwise. 

This particular outfit is no exception.  Rosie was out shopping in West Hollywood on Thursday sporting some super-cool street style:

Rosie is wearing Burberry boyfriend jeans with suede booties by Rag & Bone, Ray Ban shades and a black leather Chanel bag.  I am crazy about everything she is wearing here:  I love the blazer, the scarf, the booties…even the jeans!  And I especially like the Chanel bag….the mix of browns really works with the addition of the black handbag.  Seriously, girl has great style.  Love her!

Burberry Body Launch: Solange Knowles in Burberry

Uh oh.  Me no likey…..at all…..

Solange Knowles was one of the many celebs in attendance at the launch party for Burberry Body which was held at the Beverly Hills Burberry store.  Beyonce’s baby sis chose a high-waisted teal skirt, a print blouse and tribal heels-all Burberry Prorsum Resort 2012.  I will start by saying this-I love the heels.  (Leighton Meester wore them earlier this year at a launch event for HTC).  But that is all I love.  The skirt and blouse look bad together.  Period.  This outfit gives me the impression that Solange is trying too hard.  She is trying to be high-fashion (I give her credit for that!) but it just isn’t working here.  The skirt might be okay with a different top…and the same goes for her mustard color blouse.  It might be okay paired with something else…..but this blouse and skirt together just don’t work.  And quite honestly, I am not really liking her hair or her coral colored lipstick.  Not liking ‘em at all!

The verdict is this:  Fantastic shoes.  And that is all.

HTC Launch Party: Leighton Meester in Marios Schwab

Leighton Meester was one of the many celebrities to attend the HTC Serves up NYC Product Launch event the other night in…where else…New York.  (Duh!)   And oh man.  Girl was lookin’ good….

 

I surprised myself with this one.  I love this outfit on Leighton.  Love it.   The ‘Gossip Girl’ darling is wearing a long-sleeve black dress and print skirt from the Marios Schwab Resort 2012 Collection.  This is the first time a piece from this collection has been worn on the red carpet by a celeb….and Leighton looks so sexy and so chic!  She really looks fantastic.  I love her sleek hair and straight across bangs, too. 

And let us not forget the heels!  The heels are a sort of tribal-theme design from the Burberry Prorsum Resort 2012 Collection.  When I first saw this outfit, I didn’t know what to think.  I didn’t love the heels or the dress….at first.  The more I looked at the dress on Leighton, the more I liked it.  Same thing with the heels.  These heels are striking.  They make a statement.  And Leighton really is the perfect person to take them from the runway to the red carpet.   I adore this look on her…the dress and the heels.  I think she looks fantastic.

There is no comparison, really.  It looks a million times better on Ms. Meester.  Hands down.  I don’t like the sleeves on the model.  They are too short, which makes it look a bit too small.   Leighton makes this dress look pretty!  The model does nothing for it, and it does nothing for her.  It just looks drab, and really sort of hideous.   Leighton looks so confident, so cool.   I love it!

Darth Couture: Part 2

Today is Wednesday, the third and final day of Ky-Ky’s conference.  So, he decided to keep it more casual today:

In this photo Darth is wearing:

  • Burberry long sleeve pull-over sweater

  • Burberry watch
  • Cartier black/brown reversible belt
  • grey distressed Frye boots

I think he looks really handsome, although I do prefer it when he wears his “fancy” outfits!  I see him dressed casually (nicely, though) every day, so I really like to see him in button-down shirts and ties!  

Hugo Boss makes really beautiful mens clothing, IMO.  Boss suits are really impeccable and their more causal attire is also really gorgeous and classic looking.  Just a FYI!  ;)

Darth Couture

Yesterday I posted a picture of my husband Kyle Thomas (who also goes by ‘Darth’) all dressed up in his business attire.  Afterwards, I realized that I did not properly describe his outfit!  I didn’t describe it at all, actually!  Shame on me!  So I am going to do that now! (I know the suspense of who Darth was wearing is probably killing you all!)

Darth Couture:  Day 1

  • Cartier reversible black/brown belt (repeat offender!)
  • black leather Prada loafers (repeat offender!)

Doesn’t he clean up nicely?!  I think so!  Actually, I think he might own more couture than I do!  In all seriousness, though, this is just one of the many things we have in common!  We both love nice clothes, and really, really enjoy getting dressed up in ‘em!   And we both really appreciate our expensive clothing!  As I showed you yesterday, I mix and match my expensive clothing with inexpensive pieces from places like Forever 21 and Kohls.  It really makes your wardrobe go a lot farther!  If you have one of those days where you feel as though you have nothing to wear, I really recommend that you go back into your closet and do a quick re-evaluation.  Pull pieces that you maybe haven’t worn in a while, or try stuff on together that doesn’t necessarily “match.”  I guarantee you will be surprised by what you find.  And if you still feel that you have nothing to wear, pick up a couple new items at Forever 21 or H & M.  A new blazer or a new skirt….stuff that is easy to mix and match….will go a long way!  Creating new outfits with older clothes can really be fun!  And it can get you really excited about fashion without spending a lot of money!
