Chic Street Style: Miranda Kerr in Current/Elliott

Oh my.  My heart has gone pitter-patter.  I love Miranda….

Designer:  Current/Elliott (jeans), Dries Van Noten (jacket), Madewell (flats), Celine (tote)

Event:  Out and about, New York City

Verdict:  Um, HELLO!!  Miranda looks awesome.  She easily continues to be the one celeb that always looks fantastic in her everyday clothes.  And this outfit is no exception.  She looks casual and super-cute, yet still so polished and classy.  No sign of sloppiness here!  When Miranda hits the streets to run errands or go to meetings and appointments, she doesn’t play around.  She always looks perfect.  I would actually consider buying myself a pair of jeans exactly like these, simply because of how good she looks in ‘em.  And you all know how I feel about skinny jeans!  I loathe ‘em (except when worn with boots).    Well, Miranda has stolen my heart yet again.  I love her and this outfit is perfection.

Hysteria Photocall: Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten

So.  It took me quite awhile to decide whether or not to actually do a post on this outfit.  In the end I decided to do it (obviously!) despite my feelings for the outfit itself….

A couple of weeks ago actress Maggie Gyllenhaal was at the Rome Film Festival for the ‘Hysteria’ photocall….

Maggie wore a very loose-fitting watercolor print dress with one draped sleeve from the Dries Van Noten Spring 2012 Collection and paired it with black tights and brown wedges. 

I pretty much hate this dress.  I think it is ill-fitting and very unflattering on Maggie.  I am not a fan of the color palette and I DO NOT like her choice of shoe.  I was hesitant to voice my opinion of this Dries Van Noten dress because as I read many other fashion blogs I discovered that most people were quite fond of this dress.  But…alas…I couldn’t keep quiet any longer.  I just don’t like it.  I think it is frumpy and dull and I hate it.  And I hate the shoes, too!  Honestly, though, it doesn’t really surprise me that Maggie chose this dress.  I am not typically too impressed with her style, and this dress follows suit with the way I usually feel about her….none too impressed.
