Celeb Street Style: Fergie

 

Who:  Fergie

What:  Out-and-about in Los Angeles

Wear:   Carven (shorts, blouse & blazer), Goyard (black purse), Louis Vuitton (cream-colored purse)

Verdict:  Honestly, I only have one thing to say about this outfit:  It makes me want to hurt someone.  Seriously.  It is all wrong.  And it looks terrible on her.  The blouse is too tight on her chest….it looks like she is wearing a sports bra under there.  Her boobs look totally smashed.  And the blazer on top of the ill-fitting blouse makes her look frumpy.  There is just too much going on here.  The print shorts might not be so bad had they been paired with something simple.  But thrown into this mix they just clash with everything else.  I feel like all the elements of this outfit might not be so bad as stand alone pieces….but when put together as a whole ensemble….well, like I said.  It makes me want to hurt someone.  It is horrific.  AND LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THE SHOES.  Oh man, the shoes.  I hate these shoes more than life itself.  So hideous.  And another thing?  Why does she need to carry TWO purses?  I don’t get it.  And I don’t get this outfit.  Sorry Fergie.  Epic outfit fail.

Love or Loathe?: Fergie in Jean-Charles de Castelbajac

Oh man.  This is definitely interesting.  And by interesting I mean hideous.

Fergie attended the ‘A Night of Firsts’ event at Cecconi’s Restaurant in Los Angeles a couple of nights ago….looking rather….interesting *see note above*

 

 

I am going to start by saying this:  I am not trying to be a hater, because I think Fergie is an awesome singer and dancer!  I like her solo music and I really like the Black Eyed Peas.  But when it comes to fashion, well, Fergie almost never gets it right, IMO.   And this dress is no exception to that rule.  Fergie chose a strapless cartoon-esque dress from the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Spring 2012 Collection which features a big, gigantic bow and a cartoon kitty cat.   The basic outline of this dress is okay:  it is strapless and form-fitting and short.  Those are all okay features.  But everything else?  Oh my gawd.  Everything else about the dress is horrendous.  The bow!  The cartoon cat!  The colors!  Ugh.  It is awful.  She looks like a big, hideous Christmas present. 

What can I say….the truth hurts.  And honestly, if I put this dress on, I would hope that someone would stop me before I made it out of my house looking so fashionably challenged.  Where the heck is Fergie’s stylist???  Or maybe she needs a new one….

Fergie in Georges Chakra Couture

Stacy ‘Fergie’ Ferguson walked the blue carpet at The Clinton Foundation’s ‘A Decade of Difference’ Gala a couple of nights ago….

 

The Fergalicious singer donned a navy blue and white one-shoulder dress with a pleated organza bust and geometric print skirt from the Georges Chakra Spring 2011 Couture Collection.  And on her feet?  Christian Louboutin, of course.  ‘Pigalle Strass’ pumps, to be exact.  Her silver clutch is Hervé Léger by Max Azria.

Now, this post has me torn.  If you are a regular CandyBarbie reader, then you know I am not keen on Fergie’s red-carpet style.  I almost never like what she wears to big events.  But in this case, I do like this dress.  I actually really like the dress.  I think it is really pretty, very high-fashion looking.  What I don’t like???  The bun.  Why oh why is her hair in a hideous bun on top of her head?  I don’t like it, not one bit.  In fact, I loathe the bun.  

Back to her overall look: I really like the Georges Chakra Couture dress, and I love the shoes and clutch.  She looks really nice…..except for the bun.

Fergie is Fergalicious!

I am not Stacy Ferguson’s number one fan.  By any means.  I have, at times, described her as a woman with a bad case of ‘man-face.’  With that being said, I actually thinks she looks rather Fergalicious in this yellow dress!  And when I say Fergalicious, I mean sorta pretty.  For her. 

I think part of my general distaste towards Fergie is usually due to her fashion choices.  I don’t like a lot of what she wears.  She frequently wears skinny jeans, which I loathe, and generally speaking, she just wears a lot of “loud” stuff.  Lots of busy prints and patterns and some hideous colors, too.  So when I saw her in this simple, flowy yellow gown, I was pretty impressed.  She looks classy and lady-like, not flashy and lady-lumps-like.  Know what I’m sayin’?

 

I also really like that she is wearing minimal jewelry (just a couple of bracelets) and I love the turquoise clutch!  It is a perfectly paired accent piece to her yellow gown!   Right about now Fergie is my favorite Black Eyed Pea!!   I’m sure it won’t last, though, but here’s to hoping!!!   ;)

Fergie and K.O.

I would like to know something: since when have Fergie and Kelly Osbourne been BFF’s?!   Here they are arriving at the airport in Los Angeles:

I want to talk about Kelly’s outfit for a second.  Just look at the difference between Fergie and Kelly.  Even though I am not a huge Fergie fan, and I HATE skinny jeans, Fergie looks cute.  Especially considering she has been traveling.  Now, Kelly on the other hand.  Not so cute.  This is why I do not understand how she got to be a co-host on E!’s Fashion Police!!  I do not think Kelly has a good fashion sense.  Look at what she is wearing!

It is okay to somewhat dress down when you are traveling, I will give her that much.  But she appears to be wearing some sort of blazer with sweat pants and a t-shirt!  And bright pink lipstick!   Airplane outfits can be comfortable and casual without looking sloppy, IMO.  And I think Kelly looks very sloppy.  And why add the pink lipstick?  If you are tired and have been traveling all day and threw on some sweats and Uggs, why would you add fuchsia lipstick to the mix?  It isn’t appropriate!   I don’t get it.  And I really don’t get why E! has her on Fashion Police. 

On a happier note….today is Friday!  Yay!  Although I am working this weekend and am on another nine-day stretch, I am still happy that it is Friday!  And I have the early shift today!  Woo hoo!  My plan for tonight when I get home:  sleep!!  I am tired!  :)
