Gossip Girl: Blake Lively in Haute Hippie

 

Celeb:  Blake Lively

Designer:  Haute Hippie (tank top and skirt), 3.1 Phillip Lim (bag), Pour la Victoire (heels)

Event:  On-set, Gossip Girl, New York City

Verdict:  I think this outfit is very cute!  I actually really like this Haute Hippie tank and skirt!  I love the embellishments on the top and the floral skirt is ultra-feminine….both pieces are just really pretty.  (This is something I would wear!)  I have to say, though, I’m not crazy about the heels.  I think they are a bit over-the-top for this outfit….plus, I dunno….I think they are kinda hideous!  Sorry.  Her 3.1 Phillip Lim handbag is completely gorgeous, and although it doesn’t particularly “match” this outfit, it really works with this tank and skirt.  This is a lovely outfit, sans the shoes, of course.

Jason Wu for Target Private Launch Event: Blake Lively in Jason Wu

This is one good-looking Gossip Girl….

 

Celeb:  Blake Lively

Designer:  Jason Wu (dress), Christian Louboutin (heels)

Event:  Jason Wu for Target Private Launch Event, New York City

Verdict:  While the dress Blake is wearing isn’t part of the Jason Wu for Target collection (it is from the Jason Wu Spring 2012 Collection), I still think she looks really good!  She has been an up-and-down hit-or-miss on the red carpet lately, but this time she is dead-on!  A total hit!  This dress is super chic and I adore the black and white combination!  Her peplum skirt is really flirty and cute!  Blake looks great!  As usual, though, I am not super impressed with her hair.  It looks okay, but it sorta looks like it always does…a bit ratty.  Am I right?  Yeah, I think I am.  Super-sweet dress with so-so hair! 

What do you think?  Do you like Blake in this Jason Wu Spring 2012 black and white creation?  Love it?  Loathe it?

*On a side note:  I am going to go ahead and guess that this Jason Wu for Target line will probably sell out before you can even mutter the words ‘Jason Wu for Target’*

Gaga’s Workshop: Blake Lively in Elie Saab

Blake Lively attended Barneys New York Celebration Launch of Gaga’s Workshop at Barneys in New York City last week….

The lovely ‘Gossip Girl’ actress (who has had a slew of unfortunate red carpet looks recently) chose a bright lapis-blue suit that features lace detailing at the shoulders and a deep, plunging neckline from the Elie Saab Spring 2012 Collection.  Blake paired her suit with Christian Louboutin pumps and Lorraine Schwartz earrings. 

While I am not over-the-top in love with this outfit, I do think it is a nice change of pace for the long-legged actress.  I like the fact that she didn’t wear something super-short….although she does have very nice legs.   I think this blue suit is very feminine and very pretty-the color looks great on Blake and the lace detail on the shoulders adds just the right amount of sweetness, while the plunging neckline is all sexy! 

I am not crazy about Blake’ s hair, though.  I think her hair would’ve looked nice worn all the way down, and straightened with a flat-iron.  Just a thought…..

International Emmy Awards: Jessica Szohr in Marchesa

‘Gossip Girl’ Jessica Szohr attended the 39th Annual International Emmy Awards in New York City last week…

 

Jessica chose a navy blue embroidered full sleeve dress by Marchesa and paired it with sleek hair and nude peep-toe pumps.   So, I think the bodice on this dress is really pretty.  I love the color and the intricate detail of the embroidery and sequins!  That part of the dress is gorgeous!  But I do not like the ginormous sleeves!  They’re too big and puffy, IMO.  And I am not crazy about Jessica’s choice of shoe, either.  The dress is fairly busy, so I understand pairing it with an understated shoe…but her nude pumps are boring.  I do think her makeup is pretty, and her super-sleek bob is nice for a change of pace.  I wish her bangs were a bit shorter and didn’t fall into her eyes, as it looks like she has lovely blue eyes which really stand out due to the color of her dress! 

The overall verdict is this:  Pretty dress, minus the jumbo sleeves.

Versace for H&M: Blake Lively in Versace

Gossip Girl Blake Lively was in New York City for the Versace for H&M Fashion Show looking a bit….well….how shall I put it….tacky….

 

Blake wore a black and white mini-dress with grommet embellishments from the Versace Resort 2012 Collection and accessorized with black tights and a black blazer.  All I think when I look at this photo is THIS DRESS IS TOO SMALL!!  Blake is busting out of it!  And not in a good way!! (I don’t know that there is a good way, actually) 

From the moment I laid eyes on this photo, I knew I didn’t like it.  It just looks….cheap.  And tacky.  And I know it is neither of those things, but for whatever reason, Blake just isn’t pulling this off.  And I think her hair is looking pretty bad lately, too.  She needs to color her roots….but then again, so do I.  Can’t fault her for that, I guess.  But I still don’t like the dress!  ;)
