Barbie, Barbie, Barbie!

This weekend my ever-growing Barbie collection increased in size!  Woo hoo for new Barbie’s!!  And thank you to Ky-Ky for scoping out these treasures at a tiny antique shop and nabbing ‘em before someone else did!   Along with the Barbie’s, I got some other Barbie-themed stuff as well.  Cool!

Here are my new Barbie’s……(starting with my favorite!)…..

Barbie as Eliza Doolittle:

The box has a cover-flap with a see-through window!  Open it up….

Isn’t she pretty?!  I had never seen this Barbie before, so I was quite surprised!  Plus, My Fair Lady is one of my favorite Audrey Hepburn movies!  I love it!

Bloomingdale’s Barbie:

Kyle Thomas and I both agreed that Barbie’s outfit isn’t the cutest (she is wearing a gray sweat suit) but she is still pretty!  And who doesn’t love Bloomingdale’s?!  Am I right?!

See’s Candy Barbie:

I had heard of this Barbie before, but didn’t think it was available any longer!  She is really cute and comes with an adorable little box of See’s Candy! 

40th Anniversary Barbie:

This Barbie is wearing a gorgeous dress and comes with a mini-replica doll of the 1959 original Barbie!  Awesome! 

Elvis Barbie:

This Barbie isn’t new….I got him a couple of months ago from my Mom, and just kept forgetting to put him on the blog!  So here he is!  This Barbie is particularly cool because the doll really does look like Elvis!  Thanks Mom!

Barbie & Stacie: Sisters Skate:

This Barbie and Stacie duo is another one that I have had for quite a while now!  There is nothing crazy-amazing about these two (I got them at Target) but they are super cute!  And I love to skate, IRL, so they are special to me for that reason! 

Alright, in addition to the new Barbie’s, Ky-Ky also found these Barbie trading cards and Barbie greeting cards:

I never even knew they made these!!  So cool!  I really want to open ‘em, but for now I am holding off!  They could be a collector’s item one day….you never know!

These Barbie greeting cards are gorgeous!  Obviously I can never actually send them to people, because I want to keep them all for myself!!   I’m a little selfish, I know. 

Anyhoo, even though I had to work all weekend, I still walked away with a pretty decent haul!  Thanks again to Ky-Ky for the awesome Barbie loot!  I love it all!

K. Cav is a hottie!

Reality star Kristin Cavallari is cute!  And she looks really cute in this strapless flower print dress!  Love!

Kristin looks casual and flirty, and ready for spring!   *On a quick side-note, I think Kristin has the best legs!  They are long, lean, toned and sexy!  Way to go, Kristin!

Summer is my absolute favorite time of year, because I love the sun and ocean and hanging out by the pool!  But, I like the spring, too!  Spring means it’s time to break out the flirty, warm-weather couture that has been hibernating in the back of the closet! 

Spring essentials that I love include:

  • wedges
  • sundresses
  • sandals
  • soft, flowy hair
  • fun jewelry
  • bright, bold nail polish
  • fitted blazers
  • Toms
  • maxi dresses
  • light, pretty makeup

Stuff I love!

So, yesterday I posted about stuff that I hate.  Well, I am going to stick to that style but do the opposite!  Tell you about stuff I love!  Now, this is quite hard, because there is so much stuff that I love!  Right away about twenty things came to mind that I wanted to include.  I am only going to list five items, and I am going to exclude the extremely obvious stuff, such as candy and Barbie’s.  Duh.  You already know my love runs deep for those two things!  Here it goes….

Stuff I love:

1.  Fashion

I love fashion.  I love beautiful clothing, it makes you feel beautiful!  When you wear high quality clothing, it makes you stand up taller, it makes you feel pretty, feel better about yourself.  It might sound cliché, it might sound ridiculous, but it is true.  Put on a great outfit and you feel great.   Put on a slouchy, plain or ratty outfit and that is exactly how you will feel.  You will feel blah.   You will feel unmotivated.  A sense of  “oh well, I am just wearing this gross outfit, so I am not going to do anything good today” comes over you.  And it’s not just the clothing.  I love it all.  Handbags, shoes and accessories too.  I can’t get enough of it.  If I am feeling down, a great new pair of shoes will instantly make me feel better.  Always.  I love it so much that I am working on turning one of my spare bedrooms into a dressing room/closet.  An entire room dedicated to my clothes, shoes and purses. 

2.  Nail polish

For me, nail polish is almost like part of your outfit.  It can really complete a “look.”  I think a nice dark polish (it doesn’t have to be black!) can make any outfit look better.  Every. Single. Time.  My own personal collection is made up of over thirty different bottles of nail polish.  I have bottles that cost two dollars and I have bottles that cost twenty dollars.  And I use each and every one.  If I had the time I would paint my nails a different color every day.  Painted nails are pretty and feminine.  For me, I just feel prettier when my nails are polished!  I feel more girly, more attractive.  Nicely done nails say that you care about your appearance, that you went that extra step to make yourself more desirable.  IMO, anyway. 

3.  Animals

I love all animals!  Especially Alpaca’s!  Animals, for the most part, are friendly and loving!  They don’t understand why people are mean.  And I don’t either.  I hate people who abuse defenseless animals.  Some of my favorite animals include Alpaca’s, mini-ponies, mini-goats and donkeys.  Don’t ask me why, because I don’t really even know why.  I just love ‘em!

4.  Music

Music really is a universal language.  There are so many different types and styles out there.  There really is something for everyone.  Music is something that everyone can relate to.  Music is good!!  Feeling bad, or sad, or depressed, or happy, or excited?  Play some good music and you will feel better or happier or you will at least know there is a musician out there that relates to you in some way, on some level.   Musicians are people, too.  They go through stuff, good and bad.  And when they write about their experiences and put it to music, that can really help others.  I really believe that.   Plus, how depressing would life be if there was no music?!

5.  Coffee

Coffee is great!  I love the way it tastes and smells!  I like it plain and I like it with cream.  And there is not a day that goes by where I don’t consume at least one delicious cup!  Period!

Alright, so there are a few things that I love!  Some more serious than others.  Again, this is just a random compilation of stuff that I think about on a daily basis.   I do realize that nail polish and coffee are not nearly as important as being kind to animals, and I meant everything in a lighthearted way.  I just love animals, and felt it was necessary to include a bit about the importance of being kind to them!

Saturday, Saturday

Today Ky-Ky and I ran a few errands and enjoyed the nice weather!  While getting ready to go, I had a mimosa in my rather large princess glass:

We hit up Barnes and Noble…..

Where I picked up a couple of new books:

In Cold Blood and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, both penned by Truman Capote.  I’ve seen both of the films, so I though it would be fun to read the books.  Especially since Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favorite films, like, of all time!

We browsed some other stores and grabbed a box of popcorn before heading home.

One last stop: Target.  Why?  To check out the Barbie’s of course!!

I was lucky enough to walk away with three new Barbie’s!  Thanks Ky-Ky!!!  I may be a little spoiled……

Tonight Kyle Thomas and I are going to meet some friends at a local lounge for drinks!  Should be fun!  Expect some pictures tomorrow!  Everyone have a nice Saturday night!  Catch ya later!

Reader Participation

So last weekend my husband made a teeny-tiny mistake.  He bought me a Barbie that I already have!  And whats worse is he bought it for me only three days after buying me the first one!  So I got two of the same Barbie in one week!  Crazy!  And she is pretty, too!  She comes with a tea-pot, tea-cup and a little tray of cupcakes!  She is way too cute to return.  So I thought….rather than taking her back to the store, I could have a little fun on the blog and spread the Barbie love at the same time!  Yay for Barbie!

So here is how it will go down:  I am going to ask three questions about myself.  You must answer all three questions correctly.  This may require a bit of back-reading on my blog posts, but the answers to these questions are there.  Somewhere.  Whoever correctly answers all three questions will win one of the Barbie’s pictured above!  Obviously there is only one Barbie to give away, since I am keeping one!   Here are the three questions:

  1. What is my favorite color?
  2. Who is my favorite celebrity?
  3. What (weird) animal do I really want?

If I get multiple sets of answers that are all correct, one person will be picked at random!  Now, I know I have readers out there, so get to it!  This extra Barbie needs a new home!!  ;)
