Santa Barbara International Film Festival: Rooney Mara in Louis Vuitton

Rooney is slowly but surely introducing color into her wardrobe….

 

Celeb:  Rooney Mara

Designer:  Louis Vuitton (dress), Giambattista Valli (heels)

Event:  27th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Santa Barbara

Verdict:  This green Louis Vuitton dress looks very cute on Rooney!  And I am so happy that she is wearing a bit of color!  It is a nice change!  Hopefully she will stick with this trend and wear more and more color on future red carpet appearances!  I am not sure how much I really like her choice of shoe, though.   They are okay…not sure if they are the right choice for this dress.  Overall I think Rooney looks really pretty!  This look almost has a very mod, 50′s housewife-esque feel to it!  Know what I mean?

‘This Means War’ Premiere: Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton

Green, black and sparkly all over….

Celeb:  Reese Witherspoon

Designer:  Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012

Event:  ‘This Means War’ Film Premiere, London

Verdict:  Love it!  Reese looks great!  I am totally crazy for this emerald-green color!  And the sequins and tiered skirt really give this dress a playful and feminine feel, but it still looks super chic!  I feel like Reese’s black pumps are a bit drab, but the dress is sassy, so she can get away with a more conservative shoe here.  Also, I wish she would’ve polished her nails!   Some black or dark green polish would have been killer with this outfit!  But, alas, she opted for bare nails.  And that is okay.  You know why?!  Because I love this Louis Vuitton dress on her!  Love it!

‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ Paris Premiere: Rooney Mara in Louis Vuitton

Rooney Mara looked stunning on the red carpet at the Paris premiere of her new film ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’….

The actress chose a black sleeveless Louis Vuitton dress that features a bell-shaped skirt and lots of gold embellishments!  She accessorized with barely there black Givenchy sandals and deep red lips!

I think I’m in love! I think Rooney looks absolutely amazing!  I love this black Louis Vuitton dress on her!  She looks chic and sexy and classic and edgy….all rolled into one! 

My only complaint….which really isn’t a full-blown complaint….more like a ‘lil suggestion….would be for her to wear different shoes.  While her strappy Givenchy sandals are quite nice, I am not 100% sold on them in combination with this LV dress.  Know what I mean?  Other than that, though, I think this look is perfect!  Love it!

Louis Vuitton Sydney Boutique Opening: Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton

Actress Cate Blanchett jetted over to Australia last week for the opening of a new Louis Vuitton Boutique….

Cate chose a white embroidered dress with sheer overlay from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 Collection and paired it with white Louis Vuitton pumps.  Minimal makeup completed her look.

I think this is a pretty dress, but I don’t like all the extra fabric up around her collarbone and neck.  I think this dress would’ve looked a bit better with less bulk on top.  And I am not crazy about Cate’s white pumps, either.  To be completely honest, I think this dress is nice, but it isn’t doing Cate any favors.  It needs to be jazzed up….it is rather drab.

Louis Vuitton: Rachel Bilson or Miranda Kerr?

Rachel Bilson and Miranda Kerr are both celebrities who have amazing style.  On and off the red carpet.   So it comes as no surprise that both of these lovely ladies chose to wear the same Louis Vuitton dress…over a year apart! 

The Dress:  Feather-print dress with wide black straps from the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Collection

Rachel wore the dress back in May 2010 to the Met Gala:

 

Miranda wore the same dress (last week!) to the after-party of the Louis Vuitton store opening in Sydney, Australia:

 

On Rachel:  I like that she wore her hair down and I like that her skirt looks a bit more full.  Oh, and the shoes….I really like her black strappy sandals! 

On Miranda:  I like her red lips (gasp!) and her red nail polish and I really like that she added a black belt-it makes her waist look really tiny!  And while her skirt isn’t as “pouffy” as Rachel’s, I do like the added length on Miranda’s version of the dress. 

Overall, Miranda wins for me!  I just adore her and I think she looks fantastic in this feathery Louis Vuitton creation!
